Description:
The general idea of this event is to obtain the highest hand possible in order to go against other competitors’ hand. It will follow the rules of the card game “21 BlackJack”, the competition will be elimination style until a winner is decided.
The event will require 13 head of cattle, each numbered with the following: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace. Each number will have a random card suit that serves as cosmetic appeal only. It will require the entire arena and round pen.
Cattle will begin at the far end of the arena and riders will start at the round pen/arena entrance. The Judge will have a stop watch and a card deck in the booth with them. Once riders are ready to start, a single card will be drawn from the deck, announced to the riders, and the time will start.
The riders will have to sort and cut the assigned card number first followed by whatever other card numbers required to make the strongest hand. Once the riders both cross the line, the run is over. If additional cattle enter the round pen causing the hand to be a “bust”, the run is over.
