Foundations to Liberty groundwork with an emphasis on building your connection and communication with your horse. This clinic will begin with a discussion on horse behavior and how Liberty Horsemanship can improve your connection and communication with your horse. We will talk about the horse’s flight, fight, and freeze response, and the benefits Liberty training has in these areas. In this portion of the clinic we will also briefly touch on the use of positive reinforcement and target training. From there, we will begin working with our horses on-line going through the foundation steps that lead towards eventually getting your horse working with you as a herd of two at complete liberty. We will pause for a lunch break mid-day and continue with our horses in the afternoon with the opportunity to begin putting what we’ve learned into practice off-line at liberty in the round pen.
This clinic will be lead by Kate Bowser. Kate is an equine photographer who has a passion for sharing Liberty Horsemanship with others because of her personal experience of the benefits with her own horse. Growing up she trained and showed dogs for nearly 10 years and has always had a passion for animal behavior, as well as a drive to see animals transform to the very best they can be! Kate and her horse Gunner will share their personal journey into the world of Liberty Horsemanship at the clinic!
