Malachi (SOLD)

Malachi stands right around 15 hands and is a black (currently sun bleached) 4 year old registered Appaloosa gelding. Don’t let that Appy reputation scare you though, if I didn’t mention it you’d never know he’s an Appaloosa- both his build and brain screams “Quarter Horse” but with pizazz!

This guy is extremely special, and we know with the right person holding the reins he’s going to be one of those priceless, safe, young, beautiful, sound, all around unicorns that everyone is looking for. We can see him winning buckles in ranch classes, sporting ribbons in a jumping/dressage arena, leading a kid around and then hitting the trail- all in the same week. He’s one we wish we could keep ourselves!

Malachi was started here and has had over 90 days of professional training, he has a very solid foundation. He is ready for you to take him in any direction you’d like! Since his first ride, he has been level headed and has never offered to buck, rear, or bolt. He has a sweet, goofy, “in your pocket” personality and is the first to meet you at the gate. We’re not convinced that Monkey isn’t a giant fancy Labrador, he has been known to knock grooming brushes to the ground and fling them around, as well as play with the water horse!

Malachi rides quietly on a loose rein, can be ridden in a halter, bosal, or bit. He is not spooky, and open to trying new things! He has ridden plenty of fence on the ranch, as well as worked cattle, gone on trail rides, and rides beautifully in the arena. He was started western, but has ridden English as well. He is correct, has great feet and has always been barefoot. He has a lovely walk, trot and canter and looks rather fancy while doing it! He is sound, sane, and has no vices. We would consider Malachi to have more “woah” than go, but he moves off easily and is quite athletic.

While he is easy and quiet, for now we would recommend he have an intermediate rider experienced with young horses, or potentially a confident beginner working with a trainer. Being young, he needs someone that can help continue his education, put miles on him, and not allow him to get away with the common things that babies try.
